The Eating As Learning Framework - Certified Practitioner Training

A complete framework for the assessment and management of children’s feeding difficulties. The first course of its kind in the UK, designed specifically for UK healthcare professionals working across community and SEND settings. 

Developed by our trans-disciplinary team of feeding therapists with extensive experience in clinical practice and research. Target Audience: Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Psychologists, Learning Disability Practitioners.

A comprehensive, assessed 3 day hybrid course. Successful completion will enable participants to become a Certified EALF Practitioner.

DAY 1 & 2: Online 22nd April 2026 & 20th May 2026

DAY 3: In-person

17th June 2026 - The Colmore Building, Colmore Circus, Birmingham, B4 6AH

OR

22nd JULY 2026 - Blossom house school, Station Rd, New Malden, London, KT3 6JJ

Course participants will receive a free copy of the Eating as Learning Framework manual, which contains pick up and go therapy handouts and materials, worth £250.

Understanding Feeding Difficulties and Differences

Half day (3 hour) online course - Tuesday 20th January 2026 12:00pm - 3:00pm

Course fee: £75

Suitable for any healthcare professional supporting children and young people with feeding difficulties.

Course objectives:

  • To understand the causes of feeding difficulties and differences in children.

  • To challenge some of the misinformation around children’s feeding and the barrier this creates.

  • To introduce the concept of eating as a learning process, that progresses at different rates and in different ways.

  • How to introduce food exploration activities, in a responsive and neuro affirming way.

  • How to adapt food based activities to suit individual children’s learning style and level.

  • To provide hands on, practical strategies to develop children’s eating skills in your setting, including what to do at lunch and snack times.

  • Feel confident in knowing when to refer on to other professionals.
